Keyword research is the process of finding and examining search queries that users enter into search engines such as Google, to use the data for a specific purpose, mostly for SEO.
Keyword research tells you how popular a particular topic is amongst your audience. By researching keywords you can filter and search volume keywords which lets the content marketer know their topic has a big enough audience.
The goal for researching keywords is finding high search volume but with low difficulty. The higher the difficulty, the harder it is to rank high for that particular keyword. Most tools such as Google keyword planner, don’t show you all available keywords such as long-tail keywords, as they want you to bid on the higher CPC keywords.
This is why finding long-tail keywords are essential with SEO success, especially if you don’t have a massive budget for marketing.
If you are struggling to find keywords, a great way is you use the keywords that all your competitors are ranking for. By using the competitor keyword research tool, you can get your competitors top ranking keywords, you can then filter through the list and add the least difficult ones.
You are probably familiar with Google keyword planner, if not, it's an addon tool that helps you find keywords to target. But this issue with GKW is they don’t generate long-tail keywords, even though these keywords get a lot of traffic and are very useful to SEO markers.
Third-party tools such as Ubersuggest or Seekmetrics create their algorithms for the sole purpose of finding long-tail keywords with low difficulty. The data is accurate, as it’s using the same data source as the Google keyword planner.
Seekmetrics keyword research tool also offers a few competitive edges over rival tools such as Keywordtool.io and Ubersuggest. We know how important it is you outperform your competitors, so we made a competitor keyword research tool which looks at any URL and collects all the top keywords that the domain is ranking for. This includes all the keyword metrics such as search volume, historical search volume, CPC, difficulty and trends.
Filtering search results is very important for finding accurate keywords, as there is no point in generating thousands of keywords which have no search volume or are too difficult to rank for. This is why we built quite a few filters so you can filter your keyword suggestions. Firstly we have two lists called include and exclude which you can add as many keywords to these lists which will either include that particular keyword or exclude the keyword. Excluding keywords is a very useful function as it will give you more accurate keyword suggestions. For example, say you search for the keyword “apple” and you want to get a keyword for Apple the company, but instead, you start getting suggestions for “apple” the fruit. This is not good as the keywords are not related anymore, so now we can add some keywords into the exclude list which will remove any reference to “apple” fruit.
Including keywords is the exact opposite of the exclude list, so back to the “apple” example, we could instead of excluding fruit keywords, we could add “apple” in the include list. This will filter the keywords and only include any that have the keyword “apple” in the keyword, so the results would be more accurate.
Filtering metrics is also extremely easy, simply use the input sliders for each metric such as word count or monthly search volume and the results will update depending on your metric values. This is a great way for finding long-tail keywords with high search volume but now a difficulty.
Bulk keywords tool is a great add-on which gives you the ability to search 700 keywords at once for their search volume, CPC etc. This is a real time-saver, as some apps are limited to one keyword per search.
We use a few third-party API’s and the search metrics data is provided by Google Adwords. However, we have no guarantee of the accuracy of this data.
Monthly search volume metric is simply the number of searches that keyword receives each month via Google. The lower the number means fewer users are searching for that particular search term.
CPC metric which stands for cost-per-click is the price marketers are willing to pay to bid for that keyword on Google Adwords. For example “car insurance” CPC is around $20, this means every user that searches for that keyword and clicks the ad, costs the advertiser $20 just for the click.
Difficulty metric is basically how competitors that keyword is based on the websites that are ranking for the same keyword. The higher the number means it will be harder to rank for, ideally you want a difficulty metric of 0.1 - 0.3.
Historical search volume metric is the monthly search volume but for the past 12 months, this is useful to see if the search volume is going up or down.
Unfortunately, we don’t offer trials due to spammers taking advantage, but we have pricing plans starting from $9/month.
Yes, we have a 7 day month back guarantee which starts when you start the subscription.
